Information on Football Co-op
On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the Woonsocket School Board Football Co-op representatives met with the reps from Wessington Springs and Sanborn Central to discuss our football program. During the meeting, Wessington Springs said that at their next board meeting on December 11th, they would be discussing if they are going to stay in the co-op or explore the possibility of having their own football program. During the same meeting, discussion was held and the positives and negatives were weighed of disbanding the football co-op. Yesterday, December 11th, we received confirmation that their board will be holding a Wessington Springs community meeting to provide information to the community and receive feedback on the subject on December 18th. This is all the information that we currently have to share, but as we get more information, we will update everyone.
The Woonsocket School Board and administration are dedicated to providing the best opportunity for our student-athletes and creating a positive extracurricular experience. We are and will continue working with Sanborn Central and Wessington Springs in the next few weeks.
