Hawks Teener Baseball
Baseball season is getting closer, which means we need to find out who is intending to play Hawks Teener Baseball for the 2023 season. Please click on the link to fill out the Intent to Play Form. Please try to have the form filled out by Saturday, April 1st.

Make-Up Day
Make-up day is scheduled for April 28th with a 1:30 dismissal and teacher in-service in the afternoon. This will be a White Day.

Free, online tutoring available for K-12 students
South Dakota students and families can access a new, online tutoring program, staffed by college students who are preparing to become teachers. The Dakota Dreams Online Tutoring Program offers FREE online tutoring to K-12 students across the state. One-on-one tutoring sessions can help students with their homework, tackle specific trouble areas, and address broader educational concepts.

Counseling Corner
Boys State - May 29 - June 2, 2023 @ Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. Click here for additional information. Boys must be a high school Junior or Senior who have never attended Boys State before.
Agtegra Agriculture Scholarship - Agtegra is offering 10 scholarships, $500 value, to high schoolers graduating in the class of 2023. Additionally, Agtegra is offering 1 collegiate scholarship, $1,000 value, for current college students. Scholarship eligibility: must plan to attend a 2 or 4 year post-secondary institution in SD or ND, must plan to pursue or currently pursue an agricultural degree/program, and must be a U.S. citizen. Woonsocket American Legion Post 29 is proud to offer a $500 scholarship for a graduating Woonsocket High School Senior. Click here for application. Applications must be received or postmarked by April 15th.
Weskota Foundation awards three scholarships to a high school senior going into a healthcare related field. It is open to any senior at these high schools: Wessington Springs, Woonsocket, Sanborn Central, White Lake and Plankinton. This year the amount has been raised to $750 each!
We are also the trustees of the Rueben and Edna Butz scholarship fund which awards a scholarship to one HS senior and one post-secondary student in a health care related field. These students must be from Jerauld County. These scholarships are also $750 each.
Please remind students to go to their school counselor or come to the hospital business office for an application.
Independent Insurance Agents of South Dakota. Apply today for "Servince Other Scholarship". Please visit sd.insure/scholarship or see attached for additional information. Applications due by April 15th.
South Dakota Telecommunications Association - 3 scholarships: 2 for $2,000 and 1 for $1,500. Qualifying students: have a high school diploma, GED equivalent or will at graduation in 2023; are accepted into or attending a multi-year program degree at any accredited technical college or accredited post-secondary higher education institution in SD for the fall 2023 semester; are majoring in a degree/program or field of study that is useful in the telecommunications or broadband industry or which significantly relies on the use of broadband services and related technologies; and, is a customer/member or have a parent/legal guardian that is a customer/member of a SDTA member company. Plains Commerce Bank Scholarships - The Mitchell branch has (2) $500 scholarships available to be awarded to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a post-secondary SD college, university, or vocational technical school on a full-time basis. iii. This is a relatively new program for ag (going into year 4) and CHS is ramping up and partnering with more students each year

April is "Month of the Military Child". VFW Post 2750 Auxiliary in Mitchell has teamed up with Logan Luxury Theaters and Community Sponsors to purchase movie tickets for military kids in the are. Click here for more details.
There is a donation box in the Woonsocket School Commons for the collection of used tennis shoes for Veterans. Organized by Sophie Kelly and Letcher Junior Post 93 Legion Auxiliary.
