Track
Track practice for all 7th-12th athletes will start on Monday, March 18th at Woonsocket. There will be a track meeting on Wednesday, March 13th at Sanborn at 8:30a.m. and at Woonsocket during SRB. I will hand out schedules then.  -- Coach Henriksen


Spring sports pictures will be taken on Wednesday, March 27th in Woonsocket. Girls and Boys Track at 2:30. Girls and Boys Golf at 3:00pm. Click here for online ordering.

Adventure in Belize
Parents of 7th, 8th, & 9th graders are welcome to join for an informational meeting about our trip to Belize, summer of 2027, on Monday, March 11th @ SC. Click here for information. 


Dakota Dreams Summer Camp
Students entering 7th and 8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year can participate in free, five-day residential career exploration camps this summer. Hosted on South Dakota college campuses, these camps expose students to various career paths through fun, engaging and hands-on learning. Throughout the week, campers will spend time with instructors, take field trips to area businesses, participate in interactive exercises and more, gaining a better understanding of themselves, their career interests and how their education prepares them for professions. Substitute Teachers
The Woonsocket School District is looking for individuals who are interested in being substitute teachers in the elementary and/or high school.  Individuals who are interested need, at minimum, a high school diploma.  Substitute Teacher Pay: Non-certified - $100.00/day, Certified - $120.00/day, Long term (after 5 consecutive days) $130.00/dayPlease contact the school at 796-4431.

Free, online tutoring available for K-12 students
South Dakota students and families can access a new, online tutoring program, staffed by college students who are preparing to become teachers. The Dakota Dreams Online Tutoring Program offers FREE online tutoring to K-12 students across the state. One-on-one tutoring sessions can help students with their homework, tackle specific trouble areas, and address broader educational concepts.

Community Corner

Sanborn County 4-H is sponsoring a Day Camp on Easter Monday, April 1 at the 4-H Building from 10-4:30. The camp is open to all ages 8-18 – you do not need to be in 4-H!

We request that you please register by Friday, March 15th to help with our planning.

The day includes numerous hands-on sessions including first aid, photography, consumer decision making, bike safety, precision ag, and poster making, games and food!!! The day is free, but a free will offering will be taken with proceeds to help purchase tables & chairs for the 4-H Building. We are thankful to our sponsors that allow us to offer this fun day at no charge: Farmers Elevator Forestburg, Horizon Healthcare-Woonsocket, Santel Communications, Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, Thrivent Financial, Modern Woodmen of America, Agtegra-Woonsocket, and finalizing a few more.
