Update - the city is unable to fix the water main tomorrow. School will go on as normal. NOTICE*** There is a malfunction with the city water main. It is leaking and needs to be addressed asap, which requires the school water to be shut off for an extended period of time. Woonsocket School will dismiss early tomorrow, November 8th, at 1:30pm, so they can fix the issue. Thank you for your understanding on short notice.

Dear Parents/Guardians/Fans,
The SDHSAA is attempting to gather the economic impact data of our state events for the purposes of engaging local chambers of commerce to explore ways to keep costs to families down and to explore cost saving avenues for our member schools. We started this last year with state volleyball and will end it this fall with state football. Your responses are confidential and are anonymously compiled within the IMPLAN Economic Impact computer program. No identifying data will be asked of you or used within the study. We appreciate you taking the time to help us with this undertaking. Your feedback is necessary and appreciated. If possible, please take the survey as soon after your event as possible, as our IMPLAN license runs out shortly after the fall season.

The Woonsocket NHS group is now accepting kids and teens clothing in the following sizes: Girls - S/M - L/XL, Boys - S/M - L/XL, Women's - S, M, L, Men's - S and M. Clothes can be dropped off in the school commons.

The Hanson Earlybird JH Girls BB tournament will be Saturday, Nov. 23rd at Hanson School (this is a later date than in the previous years). We are planning to take our JH girls BB team again this year.

Senior Holden Havlik of Wessington Springs is putting on a football camp for his senior experience.

Woonsocket Athletic Hall of Fame
The Woonsocket School has been approached by past alumni to start a Woonsocket Athletic Hall of Fame. We are looking for 8 diverse committee members representing different decades, etc. If you are a Woonsocket High School graduate and would be interested in serving on the Hall of Fame committee, please contact Supt. Rod Weber, Rod.Weber@k12.sd.us, 605-796-4431 by November 15th. More information will be provided about the Woonsocket Hall of Fame when the committee is established.
The Back 9 in Woonsocket will again be hosting a 7th-12th grade winter golf league on Sunday nights and wanted to open it up to area students. The 2-person teams play about every other Sunday depending on how many teams are registered. The league will start the Sunday, Dec. 8 and go to the middle of March with a league cost of $65/person. Sanborn County Courthouse "Parade of Trees" can be placed on any of the three floors (artificial trees with no lights). If interested in participating, please have your tree placed between December 2nd and December 20th, and will remain until after New Year's Day.
