If your name is called for WIN in the morning, you are required to go to Mr. Rodriguez's room for SRB. Students must check in with SRB and then come to Mr. Rod's room before the bell rings. If you are late then you will serve lunch detention.  You must do this even if you have turned in your work to get out of WIN. I will give you 15 minutes once SRB starts to get out of WIN before you must serve lunch detention. If I have to come find you, you will be in lunch detention.

Miss South Dakota Kaitlin O'Neill will be presenting to our school next Monday, Oct. 11

7th-12th grade will be in gym from 1PM to 1:50PM
Elementary will be 2PM to 3PM

Schedule for the week:

Thursday: JH & HS practice @ Woony 4:00-6:00. Full pads for both.

Friday: JH & HS Practice @ Woony 4:00-5:45 JH will be full pads & HS in helmet & shoulder pads. No JH practice.

Saturday: Varsity game vs Rapid City Christian at Hart Ranch with a 2:00 MT kickoff.  Charter bus will leave SC at 7:45 AM, pickup Woony at 8:00, and Springs at 8:15.  We are planning on having lunch and stretching our legs in Kadoka with some sandwiches that some parents and Ryan Jensen are setting up.

Athletes should ride the bus to Rapid City. I understand that quite a few families are staying for the weekend in the Hills and want their sons to stay on Saturday, that is fine, just make sure to communicate with the coaches so we have an accurate count on the way back. It sounds like RCC is feeding us after the game but having your child bring some spending money isn't a bad idea.

Monday Oct. 11th: JH & JV finish the season in Mt. Vernon vs MVP.

Both games take place at 4:30 pm. They will utilize both fields for the games.

Last call for cookie dough if anyone would be interested in purchasing a box.  The cost is $22 a box and we have the following:  1 box of Peanut Butter, 6 boxes of Snickerdoodle, 2 boxes of Oatmeal Raisin and 3 boxes of Rainbow Candy .  If interested let me or any of the volleyball players know. Thanks, Coach Olsen.

Hi, we are the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawk Volleyball Seniors. We are hosting our dig pink night on October 14 in the Woonsocket Gym. We are wondering if you would like to donate a silent auction/raffle item. If so you can have it at the school by October 13 or contact one of us.

*Friends of the Library Cookbook Fundraiser. All recipes need to be submitted by October 8. They can be emailed to Woonsocket.Library@k12.sd.us. COMMUNITY

CommunityWoonsocket Wi-Fi

The Woonsocket Community and Events Center has expanded its central role in connecting community residents and visitors. Santel Communications recently installed a Public Wi-Fi system that provides free Wi-Fi.

According to Woonsocket Schools Superintendent, Dr. Rod Weber, “The school’s remote and eLearning platforms require the student’s reliable access to the Internet. It is important for the school to work with families and community to provide connectivity they need to continue learning through varied pandemic conditions and restrictions. Santel approached the school on ways to help and within a short amount of time, free public Wi-Fi was implemented.”

The community center now has Wi-Fi coverage inside and outside the building. The students and public are invited to use and access Internet for their needs. General Manager Ryan Thompson of Santel states, “Our enhanced Wi-Fi systems allow expanded coverage in an area commonly used by the community for many different events and gatherings. If more stringent social distancing is required, we felt it was important to offer students and residents outdoor ‘drive up’ Internet as well. Drive up, park, connect. Easy, safe and convenient.”

Internet-connected device users should select the community center Wi-Fi access point on their device and with no password required the system allows up to a 2-hour session of free Wi-Fi internet.
